ENG During his stay in Athens, Bury Łakomy plans to focus on visions of life within modernist city projects from the 1960s, such as Takis Zenetos’ “Electronic Urbanism” or the Cushicle concept. He is interested in utopian corporeal architecture, present in projects like the Spinal Body Carrier or postural chairs, which treat the body as the central element of construction. As Peter Cook wrote: “We are approaching something very similar to the bat-man, where the skin of the envelope depends on a system of vertebrae responding directly to the nervous system of the person inside.” These visionary ideas serve as a starting point for the artist’s further explorations of architecture as an extension of the body.
